Black Eye

I know firsthand what it is to be held in captivity. Being forced to do things that no child or young woman should experience in life.

A man broke in to our small apartment one night and murdered my Mom. I was three years old. From there, I began living a life never intended for a child. Being forced into things a child should not be involved in.

I needed a hero to come and rescue me, but no one came.

Then God…

I’m so grateful that God Himself rescued me. June 2011, God totally set me free from my last abuser. Now, I never have to be held captive again. I am free to learn and experience all God has for me. Free to learn of my true identity and live the life and plans He has for my life. Free to choose His ways. To live the best life ever!

Paying it forward

I know God has allowed me, as a writer, to put this website together to reach out to the world. It gives me an avenue to blackening the eye of the enemy from my past. And it allows me to give unto others the same comfort (freedom) God has given me.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 states, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

It is my duty to share this gospel of comfort and freedom.

Honestly, a big part of me wanted to be angry about my life. I didn’t deserve any of that, and even though I don’t know you, I can tell you that whatever has happened to you–you did not deserve that either. It was never, and is not, God’s desire for us. He wants to rescue us from all that trauma and drama, and He has gone to the greatest of lengths to make that happen.

We can’t go back and change any of those things. Nor can we keep living a life of blaming others or living with regrets. All that does is keep us bound up and in constant torment.

Instead, what we can do is to turn to Jesus, and get to know God, learn to live the life He had planned for us all along. His original design.

And support those whom He places in our path who are reaching the places we can’t.

“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary” Ps 107:2
